Seven Pounds

December 22, 2015

Although I've never purchased knitting needles before, they've always been in the back of my mind as something I'd like to use in my sculpture. I've seen them in antique stores numerous times, but only in small quantities. Recently, I decided to get serious about acquiring a bunch of them, and I began my search on eBay. 30 needles here, 50 needles there, maybe a large lot of 100... Then I came across an ad with a photo of a large pile of them. I contacted the seller and asked her how many needles she had, expecting that she would count them for me. She replied back, "There are over seven pounds of aluminum knitting needles." She had me at "seven pounds". Now, I have over seven pounds of knitting needles on my worktable.
